Ericsson is a global leader in telecommunications solutions, including mobile communication networks (GSM, 3G, 4G, 5G). In addition, Ericsson provides a wide range of enterprise services, offering communication solutions for businesses. The company also delivers a broad spectrum of network management services and Communication as a Service (CaaS). Ericsson has a strong focus on R&D, conducting extensive research in cloud-based communication networks and the integration of AI into these networks.
Where is your organization active within the FNS program (program lines, work packages), and what is your contribution?
Ericsson is involved in all Program Lines (PLs) of the FNS program. In PL1, PL2, and PL3, we contribute technical expertise, including supervising PhD students, setting up and executing test environments, and analyzing and interpreting measurement data. In PL4, our contributions include mapping the market for 6G innovation laboratories ("field labs") and assisting in defining the necessary network architecture for these labs.
Why are you participating in the FNS program?
As a provider of end-to-end mobile communication solutions, such as 4G and 5G networks, Ericsson recognizes its role in shaping the development of 6G. From the early days of GSM, Ericsson has played a crucial role in the evolution of mobile networks. We understand the importance of actively contributing to the development of 6G as well.
Ericsson aims to be a leading player in 6G innovation, and participation in the FNS 6G project is a key part of this ambition. Additionally, Ericsson is committed to helping the Netherlands and Western Europe establish a strong position in 6G knowledge development, driving economic growth in the region.
