Fieldlab Amersfoort focuses on the safe and reliable testing of digital infrastructure, with an emphasis on risk identification, societal impact, and supporting innovative applications within the 6G ecosystem.
What is the role of RDI?
The Dutch Authority for Digital Infrastructure (RDI) facilitates the testing of socially relevant use cases. The indoor setup is connected to the central core of TNO’s FNS 6G testbed, enabling experiments and innovations to take place in a safe and controlled environment.
Moreover, RDI actively contributes to the development of the ecosystem by promoting collaboration between industry, academia, and government. The Fieldlab also supports contacts with governmental agencies, for example when applying for permits to use the radio spectrum.
The fieldlab consists of:
- An indoor setup connected to TNO’s central testbed infrastructure;
- Facilities for safe and controlled experiments with various network technologies;
- Collaboration between industry, academia, and government;
- Support in applying for radio spectrum permits and other policy-related procedures.
