Products and Services
KPN offers a broad range of products and services for both consumer and business markets, including:

  • Mobile Services: Mobile subscriptions, Sim Only, Mobile Internet, Multisim, and eSIM. In addition, KPN provides global IoT services to connect assets such as vehicles, traffic lights, payment terminals, and more.

  • KPN Campus: Solutions such as Private 5G, Edge Computing, and on-site localization tailored to customer environments—used in hospitals, logistics hubs, and industrial settings.

  • Internet and TV: Fiber internet, Wifi, SuperWifi, and a variety of Internet and TV packages, including KPN TV+ and entertainment discounts (e.g., Netflix and ESPN Compleet).

  • Business Services: Tailored internet packages for SMEs, with 24/7 service, added benefits for entrepreneurs, and VAT invoices.

  • NL-IX: Data center interconnectivity. With 16 Points of Presence (PoPs) across Europe, KPN interconnects multiple locations with each other and with the internet.

Activities within the FNS Program
As a telecom operator and digital service provider, KPN contributes to several areas within the FNS program:

  • PL0 – Program Management: Governance and coordination of the FNS program

  • PL1 – Fundamental research into new 6G mobile radio access technologies (via industrial PhD projects)

  • PL2 – Fundamental research into intelligent network management (via industrial PhD projects)

  • PL3 – Leading use cases: Active involvement in three of the seven flagship applications:

    • Wireless Sensing

    • Wireless 6G Factory

    • XR Retail

  • PL4 – Ecosystem Development: Supporting the strengthening of the Dutch telecom innovation ecosystem

In addition, KPN provides in-kind contributions through staff involvement and the use of test facilities.

Motivation for Participating in the FNS Program
The Future Network Services program is a national initiative endorsed by the Top Sector ICT, and KPN being a leading telecom operator and digital service provider in the Netherlands fully supports this ambition.

The joint investment in R&D will significantly strengthen the telecom knowledge ecosystem in the Netherlands. This is crucial for KPN to maintain access to top-tier expertise (e.g., at universities and research institutions) and to attract new talent with the required skills and knowledge.

Collaborating with leading partners to develop and test future applications will generate long-term business opportunities for all parties involved, accelerate market adoption of new services within the Netherlands, and support KPN’s position as an innovative and leading Dutch telecom operator.

Proactive cooperation with experts, stakeholders, and public authorities is essential to align policy, regulations, and new technological developments. This alignment will enable the fast and successful rollout of high-quality and energy-efficient network technologies that drive innovation, support economic growth, and benefit society as a whole.
