Port of Rotterdam
What is the name of your organization/company?
What products or services do you offer?
The Port of Rotterdam Authority manages, operates, and develops the Rotterdam port and industrial area. It provides services in maritime traffic management, business port management, port development, digitization, sustainability, and logistical support. Additionally, it facilitates both tourist and business activities in the port and shares information through newsletters and platforms such as FutureLand and MyPort.
In which areas of the FNS program (program lines, work packages) are you active, and what is your contribution?
The Port of Rotterdam Authority is active in Program Line 3 (PL3), titled ‘Leading Applications’. We actively participate in the drone working group, where we contribute insights from our experience in facilitating safe drone operations in our port, including airspace management for drones (UTM). In the future, we plan to join additional working groups, such as those focused on self-sensing networks for smart road infrastructures.
Why are you participating in the FNS program?
As the largest port in Europe and the biggest industrial cluster in the Netherlands, we aim to support the Dutch government and all other FNS partners in achieving their 6G ambitions. Furthermore, we participate in the FNS program to gain early insights into relevant technologies that can help modernize and make our port more sustainable.
