Mathieu Andriessen

Mathieu is the director of NLconnect, the trade association for the mobile and fixed-line telecoms industry. He has been active in the Dutch telecoms sector for many years and is regarded as a specialist in the field of telecoms policy and digital infrastructure. Mathieu has in-depth knowledge of spectrum policy, telecommunications law, market regulation and other policy issues relating to connectivity. He is also involved in sector-wide agreements within the Dutch telecoms industry.

His career began in the cable sector, focusing on areas such as wholesale access and video distribution. Later, through NLconnect, he played an active role in the roll-out of Fibre to the Home and the introduction of 5G. He has also held positions within the central government and in national politics.

Driven by the conviction that connectivity forms the vital digital backbone of the economy and society, he works with NLconnect’s approximately 90 members to develop secure, high-quality fixed and mobile networks – the foundation upon which cloud solutions and AI are built.
