Free-space optics for terrestrial applications

Where are you active within the FNS program (program line, work packages) and what is your contribution to it?

Program Line 1, Work Packages 4.1 and 4.2.  Aircision is working on establishing a free-space optics link between TU/e and the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. We proposed to the other partners involved in the work packages 4.1 and 4.2 to do a demonstration of a fully-optical network in Eindhoven, combining fiber optics, free-space optics and Li-Fi, as a way to understand the integration and complementarity of the different optical transmission technologies, and potential use cases within the 6G framework.

Why are you participating in the FNS program?

The FNS program allows Aircision to accelerate our research and development roadmap, by working together with research partners such as TU/e, but also with other research and industry partners of the Dutch ecosystem. We also have the intention to build an R&D lab and field setup within the program, that benefits all the partners involved (as it will allow them to test and develop their own technologies, such as high-bandwidth photonic integrated circuits).
